This Shahrukhi, a silver denomination derived from the Timurid and Shaybanid monetary traditions, was issued only during the early years of Akbar's reign. Lahore mint issues are rare, and specimens with clear dates are seldom encountered. The present coin is particularly noteworthy for its superior quality, exhibiting a full flan, complete strike, and clear legends-features rarely seen on this traditionally crude and often worn series.
