Jaunpur Sultan, Hussain Shah (AH 863-884, 1458-1479 AD), Gold Tanka, fi zaman type, Tughra style of calligraphy on rev. (G&G J25)

Obv : المؤيد بتائيد اللّٰه حسين شاه محمود شاه بن ابراهيم شاه خلد اللّٰه
"Al-muayyad bi-tayid alläh husain shãh bin mahmüd shāh bin ibrāhim shah khallada allah" in tughra style,

Rev : فى زمن الامام نائت امير المؤمنين ابو الفتح خلدت خلافته
"fi zaman al-imăm nå 'ib amir al-müminin abul fath khulidat khilafatahu"
(in the time of the Imam, the deputy of the commander of the faithful, the father of victory)

Struck in exceptionally high relief, this tanka displays elegant tughra calligraphy with razor-sharp detail. Delicate mint lustre glows beneath the raised legends, giving the coin a striking sense of depth and presence. Graded NGC MS 62, it is a beautifully preserved and highly desirable example of this distinctive series. Very rare.
