"Sikka zad dar jahan chu mihr-i-munir, Shah Aurangzeb Alamgir” means “Shah Aurangzeb Alamgir struck coin in the world like the radiant sun.” Small floral rosettes ornament the fields, with a beaded border around the edge.

“Zarb Akbarabad Mustaqir-ul-Khilafat, sanah 38 julus maimanat manus” “Struck at Akbarabad, the Seat of the Caliphate, in the 31st year of the accession associated with prosperity.” The mint name Akbarabad appears at the top, with its epithet Mustaqir-ul-Khilafat below, the accession formula and regnal year complete the inscription.
An attractively struck mohur distinguished by its prominent Akbarabad mint name at the top of the reverse and the elaborate imperial epithet beneath it. Flowing Persian calligraphy, delicate floral rosettes, and the surviving beaded border create a finely balanced design. The epithet “Seat of the Caliphate” recalls the imperial standing of Akbarabad, the Mughal name for Agra. Very scarce.
