Comment :
Kuru was one of the sixteen Mahajanapadas of ancient India, occupying parts of present-day Haryana, Delhi and western Uttar Pradesh. An important centre of Vedic culture, the region is closely associated with the traditions of the Mahabharata, particularly the Kauravas, Pandavas and the battlefield of Kurukshetra. The silver half Karshapanas attributed to Kuru belong to the regional punch-marked coinage found in Haryana, including issues associated with the Babyal hoard. Their symbols were impressed individually into the silver, rather than struck from a single engraved die.. Extremely Fine, Rare.
