Comment :
This distinctive punch-marked series is tentatively attributed to Erikachha, identified with present-day Erich on the Betwa River near Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh. Finds from Erich and nearby Raath support its association with the lower Betwa region. Ancient Erich was an important settlement along a trade route, with a rich tradition of coinage.
A notable feature of this series is its unusual ABBB arrangement: one symbol appears once, while a second is repeated three times, making four punches in total. This distinctive combination sets the series apart and offers an insight into the regional coinage traditions of ancient India. Extremely Fine, Extremely Rare.
