Shah Jahan (AH 1037-1068 /1628-1658 AD), Burhanpur Mint, Silver Rupee, 7 RY, Obv: Arabic legend The Kalima Shahada within a square frame four Caliphs' names at the margins, Rev: Persian legend "saheb-e-qiran Sani Shihab-ud-din Muhammad" in margin, "Shahjahan Badshah Ghazi" within square, "zarb Burhanpur", excellent quality, graded slabbed by NGS as MS 63, Rare.
Displaying a fully visible square frame enclosing the central inscription, with each of its four corners adorned by a decorative knot, lending symmetry and an elegant ornamental finish to the design. An exceptionally beautiful rupee of alluring charm, with delicate underlying lustre shimmering across mirror-like surfaces. Its Mint State preservation enhances the finely rendered details, while the complete square frame, adorned with decorative knots at all four corners, lends elegance and symmetry to the design.
