Comment :
"Mint C" With Satvahana Six Arched Hill
Coins from this mint are easily recognizable by their use of the six-arched hill instead of the normal three-arched hill. The early types issued with a title of a Katrapa were using the normal bilingual reverse, Coins from this issue are known only for Chastana and Jayadāman. The location of this mint is not known, but the use of the Satavahana six-arched hill might suggest that these coins were minted in a mint taken from the Satavahanas, probably located in Malwa. This Trilingua Transitional variety carries very interesting and previously unknown type. It combines the earliest type of Chastana (Type #1) which shows only the crescent and the sun with a 6-arched hill. It can be regarded as a trial issue or a transition issue from the "sun and crescent" type to the normal "hill, star and crescents" type. Fishman type 4.14R, pg. 49, Very Rare.
